First-Ever Safari Train Trip to Takht Bahi Relics Organized by KPCTA

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) orchestrated a historic moment on Sunday, as they inaugurated the maiden safari train journey to the revered Takht Bahi relics. This initiative aimed to enlighten the masses about the opulent history nestled within the Buddha-era heritage sites, acknowledged by UNESCO as world heritage sites.

A multitude of enthusiasts embarked on this memorable expedition, commencing from the illustrious Saddar Railway Station. Greeted by the harmonious tunes of a traditional Pipe band, the visitors were ushered into an immersive experience, delving into the cultural tapestry of the region.

A convoy of 140 passengers embarked on this enlightening voyage, traversing through a series of sightseeing stops including City Railway Station, Nasirpur, Pabbi, and Mardan, before reaching their ultimate destination – Takht Bahi Railway Station.

Upon arrival, the Manager of Events, Hassina Shaukat, extended a warm reception to the guests, adorning them with garlands and distributing traditional memorabilia. Expressing KPCTA’s fervent dedication to bolstering rail tourism, Shaukat envisioned similar excursions in the future, emphasizing the pivotal role of such ventures in propagating heritage and archaeological tourism.

Venturing into the heart of Takht Bahi, visitors were enraptured by the magnificence of the relics monastery, where the Curator from the Directorate of Archaeology elucidated upon the grandeur of the Buddha era. Immersed in an aura of historical significance, attendees gleaned insights into the rich cultural ethos and religious sanctity permeating these sacred grounds.
