Islamabad Weather Update: Heavy Rains Trigger Rain Emergency in Twin Cities

A spell of heavy rain lashed the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad overnight. Prompting authorities to declare a rain emergency. The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) issued a high alert early this morning. Warning residents about the risk of flooding in low-lying areas due to water accumulation.

The unexpected shift in Islamabad weather disrupted traffic in several sectors. Including G-6, F-10, and I-8, where roads remained partially submerged for hours. Commuters faced significant delays as drainage systems struggled to cope with the volume of rainwater.
