In a post on social media, he said,
I would like to thank everyone who supported me in this election and want to offer my congratulations to my opponents. I have immense respect for the will of the people of Pakistan. Therefore, I have decided to resign from my position as Chairman IPP and step away from politics…

Talking about the election results, Mr. Tareen admitted he lost in the NA-155 and NA-149 areas, which were usually strong for him. The candidates supported by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were the ones who caused these losses.
Even though he lost, he assured everyone that he will keep working for the country but in a more private way.
He said,
“Thanks to all the IPP members, and I wish them the best. With Allah’s kindness, I’ll still do my part to make my country better.”
This news is a big moment in Mr. Tareen’s political journey, showing his choice to step back from the spotlight after the challenges in the 2024 elections.
