In a surprising twist, Jahangir Tareen, the leader of the Istekhan-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), has stepped down from being the party chairman and has chosen to leave politics entirely

Jahangir Khan Tareen decided to step down as the head of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) and leave politics after the recent general elections. He shared this news on X, which used to be called Twitter, thanking those who supported him and also congratulating his opponents.

In a post on social media, he said,

Talking about the election results, Mr. Tareen admitted he lost in the NA-155 and NA-149 areas, which were usually strong for him. The candidates supported by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were the ones who caused these losses.

Even though he lost, he assured everyone that he will keep working for the country but in a more private way.

He said,

“Thanks to all the IPP members, and I wish them the best. With Allah’s kindness, I’ll still do my part to make my country better.”

This news is a big moment in Mr. Tareen’s political journey, showing his choice to step back from the spotlight after the challenges in the 2024 elections.
