Pakistan is celebrating Defense Day 2024 with great enthusiasm

Every 6th of September is regarded as Defence Day of Pakistan, acknowledging the moment when its armed forces unexpectedly combat forces from India. Therefore, all the citizens of Pakistan became united for that enemy who selected their own darkness over it.

Defence and Martyrs Day is being celebrated with patriotic fervor in Pakistan honouring its soldiers and veterans of the 1965 war while reaffirming the commitment to defend the country from all threats. The day began with a 31-gun salute at the federal capital and in the provincial capitals there was a 21-gun salute, while special prayers were held in mosques for the development and prosperity of the country as well as for the liberation of Indians illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

In Karachi, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s mausoleum was guarded by Pakistan Air Force personnel ceremonially. The historical context behind this date is entrenched back to the 1965 war when Indian forces had made a surprise attack during which they crossed the international border at night. According to General Syed Asim Munir; Chief of Army Staff, September 6 is an important day in Pakistan’s national and military history and it signifies national defense. On this day, President Asif Ali Zardari also paid tribute to Ghazis and Shuhada’s sacrifices on Defence and Martyrs’ Day again stating our nation’s resolve to protect its sovereignty while supporting the Armed Force’s readiness to face any kind of threat.

 

Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shabaz Sharif, pledges to honor the sacrifices of soldiers and martyrs.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shabaz Sharif, has reiterated that they are ready to honor the sacrifices made by various soldiers and martyrs who fought for the defense of this country. The same spirit that was shown during the month of September should henceforth inspire us all as we work to rebuild our nation based on values such as hard work, honesty, and compassion; said Sharif while addressing an event at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA). According to Zardari pay homage to our soldiers who have defended Pakistan against outside forces while also making a great deal of personal sacrifices; admitting that this is one way in which our nation will remain committed to protecting its independence.
