Petrol Diesel Prices in Pakistan decreases for next 15 Days

For the next two weeks, the government in Pakistan reduced the price of petrol by Rs7.54 per liter. On the other hand increased the cost of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs1.48 per liter on Thursday.

Beginning August 1, 2025, the price rise for HSD will take effect. But it has lowered the price of gasoline for the upcoming two weeks, which will be in effect until August 15.
New petroleum product prices that will be in effect on August 1, 2025, have been announced by the finance division of the Pakistani government, according to a statement released by the finance ministry.

OGRA statement

According to the statement, the price adjustments were decided upon after analyzing global market trends and taking into account suggestions from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and other relevant ministries.

The statement claims that the cost of HSD has risen by Rs1.48 per liter, bringing the new price to Rs285.83. The cost was Rs284.35 per liter at the moment.

The price of gasoline has been reduced by the government by Rs7.54 per liter. At the new rate of Rs264.61 per liter, gasoline is currently available. The cost before was Rs272.15 per liter. These updated rates will be in place for the following two weeks.

Earlier, consumers had seen a significant hike in the cost of petroleum goods when the government raised the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs10.39 per liter, starting on July 1, 2025.

The agriculture and transportation industries both make extensive use of the high-speed diesel. As a result, a rise in its price would have an inflationary effect on consumers.

This fuel is used by both the transport industry and farmers for their tractors. As a result, the cost of transporting commodities would increase, leading to increased inflation throughout the nation.
In addition, the government has increased the cost of gasoline by Rs8.36 per liter since July 1.

Petrol, which is utilized in vehicles and motorcycles, is thought to be a substitute for compressed natural gas (CNG).
